My Grandma

by Tira Sims
(Los Angeles, CA)

My grandmother was the most important person in my life. I have always been able to depend on her kindness, warmth and love. I will miss her very much.
My grandma was a healthy 83 year old. She had a surgery to straighten her back in 2009. Something went wrong and she almost died. She survived, as she is the strongest woman I have ever met, but was paralyzed from the belly button down.
My mom cared for her in our home with the help of her sister in law and myself when I could get in town.
Through it all my grandma had grace and dignity and never once complained about her situation.
This short story can hardly encapsulate the amazing woman she was.
I miss her and I love her. She has taught me the meaning of the word love.
I hope more than anything I will see her again.

Sorry for your loss
by: K

Your grandmother sounds a lot like mine. I fully understand your pain and sadness over losing such a wonderful, strong woman in your life. Just know that memories can never be taken away from you and no matter how many years go by you'll still carry with you her love and she will always be close to your heart no matter what. My deepest heartful condolences.

Courageous woman

And your Grandma loved you very much. s
She would always have a gleam in her eyes when she talked about you. She would wish for you to be strong! To be happy.
