My grandma

by Lauren
(Kansas )

I lost my grandma this summer. She wasn't feeling very well for a while; she had severe abdominal pains, etc. She went to the emergency room time after time and the doctors sent her home saying "oh no...you're fine!" But, she wasn't. She had stage three ovarian, liver, and colon cancer. A few years ago, when I was about 9, my grandma lost a kidney due to a basketball sized tumor, so the cancer was just eating her alive. I'm 13, almost 14 now, and it's been about 2 months. She was my best friend...I told her EVERYTHING. I jus still can't believe she's gone. I'm currently doing therapy, hoping my therapist can help me come up with ways to somewhat cope with this until I'm mature enough to stomach it all. I read all of your stories and I am keeping all of you in my prayers. Best wishes!

Baby girl God bless you for loving your grandma so much. You will get over it , God has His way of making us cope . Write beautiful poems about the good times you had with her and you will find yourself smiling inspite of your tears.
