He was at the lake that was his favorite
The phone rang, my sister was on the line. "Ryan has been shot". Who, Why, How? She said my brother Jim had shot him. I had just talked to them a half hour before that. We had been laughing and joking with each other. She said get to the hospital. He lived two hours away. I got there 15 minutes after he had passed.
My only child, how could my brother do this?! They had been drinking and got into a fight at my dad's house. My son got the best of my brother so my brother went inside, got a gun and shot Ryan. He lived for four hours after that. The police and doctor said it was too close of a shot for him to have survived it.
I think of him every day, every hour, and night, just wishing he would come home. I know he will not. It's been almost two years now and it is still so hard for me. He was a good son. I had him when I was 15 years old. We had it hard, but we loved each other.
He loved life and always worked hard and loved everyone. He was always laughing and making others laugh. I have not seen my brother since. He is in jail now. Perhaps I will go see him someday, but not yet.
I love you Ryan~ Your Mom Forever
