My LiL Girl; Jade

When I first met you, when they brought you home, I was apprehensive about having a little Pug as a pet.
After all, a guy wants a big dog..
Well, after spending only a moment in her presence, I immediately felt the joy, love and warmth that would only grew in the 10 years she was with us. She was a pleasure to be with, and an honor to call her a part of the family.
It's only been a day since you left us, and I cannot imagine this house ever being the same without you.
I look to your corner, to your chair, and you are not there.
There are times I swear I hear you snoring, or coming into the kitchen if you heard a bag crumple..But no, you are gone...
So sad, I cannot even spend time downstairs right now. How can I watch TV without you lying there with me....
My heart is broken, my best friend is gone.
I will never forget you, I will always carry you in my heart......
Until we meet again......Luv Ya my LiL Girl!!

Furry baby Jade

I'm so very sorry that you lost your lil' girl. I'm sure it was such a wonderful experience to spend 10 years of your life with her, and I know just how much your heart breaks right now. Please just know it's OK to grieve for her, and for yourself, over losing one another. It's such a special bond when you find that dog that just clicks with you, and like another poster )Diane) said, it's totally alright to talk to her and wish good things for her, wherever she is now. It's also totally reasonable to wish that she were right here with you now, and feeling like your home isn't normal anymore... that's part of grieving, and you do that however long you need to until you feel OK again.

I lost my own lil' boy, Scrambles, a few years back, and as Doreen mentions, it can take time to heal. It may take weeks or months or years, and there's no timeline or schedule to it. If you had asked me this morning, I would have said I was fine, but I find myself here again after outright crying over a strangers' internet post and beginning to reminisce again. Sorry, sidetrack, the point being... allow yourself to feel both the sadness over her loss and the happiness of being with her. You'll find that joy again with another pup, and when you find it, you'll be ever-so-grateful to Jade for showing you how to be a great doggy daddy =)

*hugs* and best wishes

I am sorry for your loss of Jade. Oh how I wish I could love a pet again after losing so many but my heart also is broken. I lost my husband. It seems as if life is full of loss for us. But Losing a person or a pet is no guarantee that we will always get over it soon. We will never get used to loss from our lives. It is painful every time. It takes months or years to heal. But one thing which is important is to not stop putting new things into our life. this is the only way we can move forward each day otherwise we will shrivel up. It just takes time. I hope you have a peaceful recovery from grief, and find happiness again.

Beautiful Jade
by: Diane

Our hearts don't know the difference between human and furry when it is time to say goodbye, it breaks the same. I believe their little souls sometimes stay around when we are grieving, they are still trying to comfort us in these terrible painful moments. Don't be afraid to talk to her and tell her how much you miss her. Sometimes I feel they can't leave until they know we are going to be alright. She'll visit you in your dreams. She'll live on forever in your heart and her soul will wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge, safe and warm. Please know we share your pain and I'll pray for you to find comfort in your memories. RIP beautiful Jade!

Lil Girl, Jade

My heartfelt sympathy for your loss. I can say I know how you feel. My loving friend and close companion passed three weeks ago. The house is so empty without my beautiful boy. He was with me 24/7. I did not realize how painful this would be. Some humans do not understand the strong bond that can develop between man and his pet. I do! I am feeling some peace and acceptance after three weeks.. So, be kind to yourself and remember all the wonderful years you had with Jade. He will always be in your heart. Many believe we will be reunited with our beloved pets. I truly hope they are right. My thoughts are with you. E
