My Lisa

by Shirley
(Seal Beach, Ca.)

On August 11, 2009 my tall beautiful daughter, Lisa died of pancreatic cancer. She struggled for 2 years trying to hold on to life and finally lost the battle. Her doctors and her family did everything possible to keep her but to no avail. She was always laughing and funny, and loved life more than anyone I have ever known. We were best friends and I will miss her forever.

I understand
by: Christine

My husband and I lost our 38 year old son, Matthew, on August 17, 2010, from pancreatic cancer. They tested him for everything but when they finally discovered what it was , he was stage 4 and it had metastasized to his liver. After diagnosis, he lived about one month, and suffered terrible pain. He was a wonderful man and loved by so many. There were 200 of his friends at his funeral.

I understand your pain and grief. People that lose adult children have a special bond because we truly do understand the heartache and pain that we will always endure. Our grief is still very fresh and this Christmas season is very hard for us. Your Lisa was a beautiful woman - I will keep you and your family in my prayers and please do the same for us. God bless you.

I too just recently lost my daughter to cancer. She also, tried to hang onto her life for as long as she could. She loved her life, her children, and her husband. We have a shared grief and my heart goes out to you. Cherish the memories you have of her.

I know how you feel

We lost my dad in October of 2009 to pancreatic cancer and I can relate to all that you said. I am so sorry that you and your family are also experiencing this grief and pain. What an ugly beast it is and certainly not a way to pass on or to watch a loved one suffer so much. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you find with time that this will ease for you.
