My Matute

by Johanne
(New York)

My Matute...Mattie...Tutti...Phil

My Matute...Mattie...Tutti...Phil

...to never take things for granted...to not assume that there is tomorrow...lessons learned. My Matute went to heaven this past Monday, 1-2-12...a sweet, loving, fun and incredible basset hound - who never knew for one day he was a dog. Owner of the house and my heart - life was about Matute. The feeling of loss and emptiness in his absence is unimaginable - leaving a void in what was once an overflowing shelter of play, fun, love and life. I never imagined the heartbreak of losing my best friend, my baby. I never imagined that this day would come so soon. I am comforted by the support of friends and family..I am grateful for the kindness and compassion...

...a piece of my heart has gone to heaven with my Matute...the love he gave me was unconditional and life changing...a gift I will always cherish.

...to both of you!...my personal email is johannemorne@gmail.com - I would love to talk Mary...

Denise - I read your poem to Gazoo - beautiful...it amazes me how some feelings are universal - how the love we have experienced is universal and unconditional...

My best to both of you...as we move forward one day at a time...

DEVASTATED
by: Mary

I completely understand. On 01-03-12 I had to
put my 16yr old Springer Spaniel to sleep. I would
love to be able to speak to you as my heart is
broken also and I know how you are feeling.

I so understand

I'm beginning a webpage called www.theillusionofpermanence.com. I read this incredibly insightful statement in the Dalai Lama's most recent book from last March called "How to Be Compassionate". It resonated deeply with me.
I have a poem about my beloved best friend, Gazoo, lost February 21st, 2011, in which I express many of the same feelings you do. If you'd like to post a poem as well, just use the Contact Me page, or send me your personal email address from the website and I will respond.

My deepest sympathies,
Denise
