My Mother One of A Kind

I can say that my Mother whose name was Betty brought me so much love and happiness over the years. She was not only a wonderful parent, but she held our family together after my Dad passed. She was good, caring, and loved all of us equally. When I say all-I mean nine children. She like all good Mothers saw no wrong with any of her children. I quess she could see our faults, but loved us like we were perfect. She was raised to be very proud and taught all of us to do the same. Last June 14th Mom suffered a heart attack and thought she would recover fully from that. Then, in October of 2010 the same year, Mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Approximately six months later, she passed in March of 2011. My family has been devastated by this. We have splintered. It is like that great beautiful bow that held us together became untied. We are hurting. Mom, I know you can hear me. I love you and miss you desperately. I know that you made me strong and I will get through this as will all my brothers and sisters. I love you always and feel you with me each day. I just want to say Thank you Mom. You were and will always be a powerful influence in my life. God really got a great one when you walked through the Pearly Gates. Say hello to Dad and give him a big hug and kiss from all of us. Love you Mom. Your Baby girl Crystal.

Thanks for your story

I lost my mother in October 2010. I am coming up on the first anniversary and I am having some real teary moments after thinking I was doing better. I really appreciate your dialogue with your mom in your story. I am an only child..not like the nine siblings in your house, but as a caregiver for the past 8 years of her life, she did become like a child and she was the center of my life as I am also single. Moving on is not easy, I do have that "orphan" feeling. Do have friends, church, cousins and a job, but that center of love and support is missing. I realized now how strong that made me in her living years and I hold her in my heart every day. Missing her physical presence is tough, but she is with me always. She is with God and my father and all have a place in my heart forever. Thanks for your story.
