I am very sorry for the loss of your dog Odie. You had him a long time and no doubt he enjoyed a life of love and affection. Just remember that God made him especially for you.Pets are a great source of comfort. And there is a feeling of satisfaction in enhancing their lives with love.In due time you will heal. God bless you. Mari

Jane I am sorry for your loss of your dog. Losing a beloved pet hurts so much you feel as if you will never recover from this loss.
I felt this way when I lost many for my cockatiels. I also cried and cried for days and thought I would never recover. I gave many a good burial and now my husband died he cannot make any more boxes so I don't keep pets. but I have the garden birds to enjoy. I feel stronger love for pets now and adore them.
Keep a pet journal and write out your story and journey with your pets. This will be an immense comfort when reading later. You will have these memories forever. Remember the journey that each dog had in your life and how they made a difference to your happiness, and don't give up buying another dog or other pet to help you enjoy the journey in life that can always be so difficult, that owning a pet can often bring such joy and happiness to life and make the journey better. But be prepared that our pets are just loaned to us by God for our pleasure and theirs and we will lose people and pets from our life all the time, but you will have the memories forever. When you look back you will realize how much better you life was by owning that special dog/pet. How they contribute to one's well being and what joy you will bring to them in life by LOVING them.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, it's a blow to the heart when we lose them and didn't even have a chance to say good-bye. Time will help, not to forget but to change our tears into smiles when we think of them. Odie is safe now at the Rainbow Bridge, he would not want you to be so sad, but to cherish the memories you two had together and to keep him forever alive in your heart. Bless you for loving him so much, I'm sure he loved you as much in return. RIP beautiful Odie!
