My Son Philip

by Marge Mathieu
(Silver Spring, MD)

On Feb. 10, 2012, my youngest son, Philip passed away. He was 50 and I was 78. I wrote a story on this website and received many helpful comments. Now it is two and one half years later and I still miss him so much. My birthday is tomorrow (Aug. 23) and prior to my 79th birthday he wanted to talk about making plans for my 80th. He gave me, along with our family, a wonderful birthday celebration on my 75th birthday. What saddens me is when we talked about my 80th I never thought he wouldn't be here to celebrate the rest of my birthdays. It hurts so much and I can't stop crying today thinking of what he would want to plan. I miss you so much, Philip, Mom
