Hello , my name is crystal . I am 25 years old I lost my mother April.23.2011
She was 42 years old . She passed away a week away from her 43rd birthday . As her only child and caregiver this has been very hard on me ... November18.2011 the only home I've know. Since I was 6 years old caught fire causing me to move . I was very depressed , I've tried therapy and it wasn't for me . I was able to accept my mom is gone , but recently I've cried so much I just really missing her . Life has a crazy way of unfolding . I always told myself my mother was such a strong women , for taking care of me on her own especially with her health issues . I swear she was going to out live some many people , but god had his own plan for her. I hope to be able to connect with others that maybe able to understand how I feel ..

Crystal You have had 2 major losses to cope with. Losing your mother and your home. This is reason enough to be depressed. Maybe you did not need therapy, but grief counselling. Don't give up here. If you get the right person IT WORKS. I got my life back. Therapy is a different approach and is very painful. Enough of a reason for many people to walk away. But bearing this oozing pain for me was to my benefit having therapy. Now I have another great pain. GRIEF over losing my husband of 44yrs. to cancer. Being his caregiver for over 3yrs. was a strain watching him slowly die. I wouldn't use therapy for this loss but a Bereavement counsellor. I have hit depression now.
Your mother gained her strength looking after you on her own because she LOVED YOU. this is reason enough for any mom even with ill health to do what she has to do. You will have the strength to do the same if you were in her place. I hope that you will have the support you need to help pull you through the tough days until life gets better for you.

Sorry for your loss

Crystal, you say that counseling is not for you - and I get that...what do you think would work...
do you have close boyfriend...a relationship with a God... do you you paint, write poetry, write songs, play the piano...all of these things are forms of therapy...(counseling). We do not need to sit across the table from a person and pour our hearts out at a scheduled time and tell our deepest darkest secrets...what we need to be able to do.. is to find someone that we can be open and and honest with including ourselves and share the hurts and pains that we are experiencing. I hope that you are able to trust us..the ones on this site that have found some freedom in just typing out the words that flow from our hearts through to our fingers expressing our pain about our lost loved ones. It helps us know that some one out there understands and that we are not alone in our pain...and we do not have to drain our friends and our families...we can come here in the middle of the night, when we've just cried our eyes out until we've felt like we couldn't cry anymore. Hopefully, we can hear advice from people half way around the world who have been there and can be a strong support and send hugs and kisses when we need them the most...You and young and you have a whole life to live ahead of you. You didn't say if you were married yet or not, if you have children, but those are the kind of things that you can share with your new friends on the site for years to come once you've opened up and started walking through the loss of your mom...she sounds like someone I would have liked to have met...tell me more about her...(only if you want to)..Your friend..Nancy
