My Sweet Baby Girl Chewy

by Debi

I just lost my 5 yr. old English Bulldog Chewy this past Wednesday. Took her and our other 2 dogs (English Bulldog named Kaye and small mixed breed named Taco) to the groomers. Chewy has always been a delicate dog - breathing problems - small trachea, intestinal issues. Anyway, she always comes out of the groomers breathing heavy, rasping from being overly excited. I picked up the dogs and put them in the back of the suv - the day was not hot, but I did have the AC on high to make the dogs comfortable for the ride home. I stopped for 2 min. to run in and pick up something - came out and opened the back to check on the dogs - everything seemed fine. Continued the 10 min. ride home. When I arrived home, I opened the tailgate and Chewy was lying there unresponsive. I rushed her to the emergency vet but she was already gone. They think she had a heart attack. I am just beating myself up over this - I should have never taken them to the groomers that day - I should have had her sitting up front with me. The grief and guilt is horrible. I picked her ashes up yesterday. Miss this little girl so much.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard losing one of our babies. Please don't beat yourself up over this. There was nothing you could do. I am thinking of you.
