At the dog shelter I was ready to take a different dog, and you put you big old paw through your cage and put it on my arm. I think you picked me. That was 12 years ago and you and I went through a lot of changes togeather. You were so timid when you came home. You hid under my bed for months, but in a short time you became such friendly girl. Everybody in the neighborhood knew Sadie. You had so much personality. I watched you slow down and become frail, but even on your last day you still were excited about your dinner and looked for your evening snack and went outside with you buddy Buster. You died in my arms on my bed, where you felt safe and secure. I think you knew I would have struggled with putting you down. I know you loved me. My heart hurts that you are gone. I look for you in the yard, and listen for your paws on the floor when I come home. I truly hope there is a heaven and that you are there where you can run. I truly hope I will be there with you someday.

My sweet Sadie died on October 14, 2012. She was 16 years old. She was my sweet girl.

Sweet Sadie

Condolences for the loss of your Sadie may your heart find peace.

Yes our little girls were very similar. We too picked another dog until Sadie came to me. She never did learn to play with toys, because of the abuse she received before coming to our family. But she did learn to trust and eventually slept on a pillow next to me in our bed. She liked to play hide and seek, and loved to go to the mail box in the front of the house. She too had lots of friends in the neighborhood. Everyone who met her loved her. I prayed she would pass in her sleep, but we had the difficult task of taking her to the vet. Sadie had kidney disease. We only had her 5 ½ years, and that was not long enough for us. The hardest thing I ever did was hold her during the process. I will never forget the look in her eyes.

Your Sadie definitely knew the love she was getting from you. I know my Sadie sure did. She had the life of Riley. There definitely is a Heaven, and I truly believe in the Rainbow Bridge. Our pets are not hurting any longer, they are running and playing and waiting for us, and we will both see our beloved pets someday.

I do not have another to dote on, and yes your other dog is grieving, give her extra treats and love, she is sad too.

I only hope I can find it in my heart to rescue another one day. I wish you peace in your heart. I hope I can find peace too. It hurts too damn much. I cannot stop crying.

Dear Sister Patty,
We are so sad to learn of your loss. We understand completely what it's like to lose a beloved pet.
God knows we've been through this painful experience a number of times and it's never easy.
May you find some solace through your memories of her.

Patricia I am so sorry for your loss of Sadi. I cried when I read your story. You have written this in a way that tugged at my heart.
What a special companion you had in Sadi. I hope that you will keep a Sadi Journal and write in this journal your journey with Sadi and how special she was to you and how much you Miss her. You will have this forever.
I hope you go on in time to own another pet that will enhance your life and that You will give your deepest Love to another pet continuing the circle of life.
R.I.P. Sadie such a beautiful dog treasured forever.
