MY WONDERFUL FATHER-IN-LAW, GONE BEFORE HE DIED

by ANN
(USA)

My father-in-law was the sweetest person ever. he loved everyone and everyone loved him. about 3 years ago, he got
Alzheimer's and gradually left us all behind because he no longer remembered us. On May 18th, he passed away peacefully
in his sleep. It was also his 86th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Happy Father's Day, we miss you Pa. We'll see you again soon. All our love to you. June 19, 2011

Gone Before They Pass

Ann~
I know exactly how you feel. My mother is in stage four dementia (end stage). She still remembers who we are but it's getting worse every day. I know the day will come that she doesn't recognize any of us. Eventually her brain will stop telling her heart to beat and telling her to breath. It is so sad to watch. My mom was so kind to everyone her whole life. She always went out of her way to care for ill family members. We are taking good care of her but it is so hard to see her in the state she's in. She eats a meal and 5 minutes later claims she didn't eat. There are some true moments of clarity and we treasure those times. They are getting less and less. We all know what the outcome will be.
God bless you as you grieve for your father-in-law.
You are grieving for the beautiful man he was.
Peace to you.
PJ
