One More Moment...

by Lisa Baxter

One more moment…
Give me just one more moment to look into your eyes
One more moment to smile with you and send you on your way.
Give me one more moment
To tell you how I love you.

If I had known…
Had I known that there would be no tomorrow
I could have held your hand and together faced your fears
Had I known, you would not have been alone
If I had known…

One more moment…
Give me just one more moment to hear your laugh
Would one more moment be enough?
If I had one more moment I could say goodbye
And it would be enough.

Dear Friend, Thank you for submitting this beautiful poem.

It conveys everything I feel about not saying goodbye to my mum. She went into a coma before I could tell her so much.

You have really captured how it is impossible to buy time - the most precious gift to spend with our koved ones.

I hope you continue with your gift of writing poetry.

Wishing you well.X
