Our dear Truffle

by Liz
(New Westminster, BC, Canada)

Your cute little nose and charming eyes looked out to us and we fell in love with our sweet little hamster Truffle. She passed suddenly at the young age of one and a half months. Although her time with us was far too brief she quickly became a part of our family. When I would come in she would quickly come out of her little burrow to see me. I would give her a treat and she would run in her wheel or climb up on to the roof of her cage. She was remarkably acrobatic and liked to hang upside down, which was incredibly funny and cute to watch. We miss you very much sweetie.

I'm in a similar situation
by: Tina K

I'm so sorry for your loss. It doesn't matter how long or short you have had your hammy. It's so easy to get attached and when they're gone, it feels like a part of you left.

My husband and I, too, lost our beloved Teddy Bear Hamster, Lola, after only having her for less than 2 months. She passed away suddenly at age 11 months. We adopted her from a child who no longer wanted her. We quickly fell in love with Lola, got so attached to that sweet little hamster. We had another dear sweet hamster, Nibbles, who we have had since she was 2 months old and she lived to be 2 1/2 yrs old. Losing Lola hurt just is bad as losing Nibbles.

They are in heaven probably getting acquainted with each other. Truffle, is probably playing with my hamsters, too! They are no longer in pain, but at peace. I hope to see my babies one day soon.

TIME vs QUALITY

Perhaps it's the natural shape of hamster eyes, most likely not, but she/he looks very happy to me. Have peace in that you gave him/her a happy, quality life.
