Overcome with sadness

The day after Christmas our kitten was killed by neighbors pitbull. She was the cutest sweetest cat ever. My daughter, husband, two dogs and myself are overcome with grief. She didnt deserve this. We found her abandoned at 5 weeks old and cared for her. I cant stop crying and dont think this feeling will ever go away.

Feeling sad for you
by: Sandy

My heartfelt condolences on you losing your precious pet to a brutal attack. I can understand your pain. May god give you strength to bear its loss. I too lost my loved pet three years ago and still not got thro it. Meanwhile now I am caring for another abandoned kitten who is literally scared to go outside and is indoors with me all the time. You may shower your affection on another abandoned kitty after a period of time to console yourselves over the loss

I am so sorry for your loss. My little dog was attacked and killed by two out of control dogs a Pitbull mix and a Rottweiler last spring that their owners allowed to run free. My poor little guy didn't even see them coming as he was attacked from behind. It's so devastating that our little fur babies were attacked and killed so viciously. It's been nine months and my first Christmas without my little furbaby. I miss him so much it still hurts. Your little kitten was lucky to have been so dearly loved. I know her loss has broken your hearts. I hope in time the happy memories of her will bring you and your family peace.

My heart is with you.

I am sadden to hear about your little kitty. Nature is cruel sometimes and certainly beyond our understanding. To move beyond my grief and loss, without guilt I thought about my dog often, told stories about her to understanding friends, kept her picture on my dresser. It's been three years since her death and now I remember her with sadness but also the joyful times we shared. I know your time was short. Remember how much love she enjoyed while with you, full belly, warm, happy and secure.

Overcome with sadness

I am so sorry for your loss of your kitten. This is such a terrible tragic way to die. The way she was mauled to death will make your grief feels worse because of the type of death. All you can do is hope that she died quickly.
I have had pets and lost them and know the pain of the loss of a pet. I have cried and cried and thought I would never recover.
The sadness will last for a while but you will find that you are able to recover from your loss in time. Your grief will not last forever as it may feel like it. Crying is good grief and is where your healing will come from. I am unable to watch many wildlife films due to the pain of seeing an animal suffer. I can't bear it. I hope that you receive good support as you grieve and mourn your loss of your beloved kitten.

your kitten

I understand how you feel. One of our cats, Sammy, was killed by our neighbor's pit bull. It was a cold, windy night last year. I went outside without closing the front door tight and it blew open. After i realized what happened i saw that two of our indoor cats had ran outside. I caught one of them but couldn't find Sammy anywhere. He must have gotten spooked and ran off. We looked all night for him and unfortunately found him dead on our neighbor's lawn the next morning. He had been bitten in the rear. We are assuming Sammy got into their back yard and was attacked by their pit bull. He was also a rescue and was just beginning to warm up to us. My condolences to you and your family. I know how much it hurts. They deserve so much better.
