PICK ME UP DADDY

my dad less than a year before he died

my dad less than a year before he died

THIS POEM WAS WRITTEN SEPT 2001 FOR MY DAD'S BIRTHDAY.HE NOW SPENDS THAT DAY WITH GOD. I AM PLACING IT HERE TO SHOW THAT WE CAN REMEMBER THE LOVE THERE.THIS IS ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO'S FATHERS ARE GONE AND PRINCESS 101 TO GREAT MEMORIES

WHEN I WAS SMALL
AND RUNNING AROUND,
I'D ROMP AND PLAY,
AND OFTEN FALL DOWN.

AS I GREW UP,
MORE SURE OF MYSELF,
SOMETIMES I WOULD
FALL DOWN OFTEN STILL.

WHEN I WAS GROWN
AND OFT' ON THE GO,
I STILL NEEDED HELP,
WHEN I FELL DOWN THOUGH.

DADDY'S ARE GOOD
FOR SO MANY THINGS.
FOR LAUGHS AND LOVE,
AND SCRAPED HANDS AND KNEES.

ALL THROUGH MY LIFE
FROM CHILD UP TO LADY,
I'M GLAD YOU'RE NEAR
TO PICK ME UP DADDY.

Mine still picks me up when I talk to him.I love you daddy.
