Remembering the Beginning

by Gary Egge
(Las Vegas, NV USA)

My world came to an end

And I lost my best friend

Now I know that it's true

I loved you more than I knew

At first I could only grieve

And remind myself to breath

The pain was so intense

It just made no sense

With you went my life

It cut me like a knife

It hurt my very soul

It took a terrible toll

Looking for a place to hide

Knowing how much I've cried

Wishing you were still here

In my eye a tear

Life will never be the same

I still call out your name

Whispering softly, "Oh Yong Sun"

While staring up at the moon

Thinking of years gone by

Then I start to cry

On a soft summer night

When I held you so tight

I whispered in your ear

Marry me, have no fear

You didn't second guess

When you said, "Oh yes!"
