Rick Johnson (1950-2009

by Michelle
(Fayetteville, NC)

My younger brother died 3 months ago of a massive stroke. No history of any medical problems and his death caught us all off guard.

Rick and I were very close. We had lost our parents and another brother when we were much younger; we were all we had. When he died, I felt like part of me was gone, too. He was such a good man and always there for me, and I was always there for him.

We had been through so much together. I miss his e-mails, his text messages, hearing his voice. He was a construction guy and always helped me out via phone since we lived on different sides of the country. His birthday was 12 December so it has been a terribly hard month for me as the surviving member of my family.

I feel terribly lost without him. Thanks for this site. It helps! My loss seems monumental at times.
