I went back to college when I was 48 years old, and knew I had to have a kitty to go with me. I lived in the town where the college was during the week, and went home on weekends. That is when I got Rumply, a furry Ragamuffin kitty. He slept with me, and always greeted me at the door of the little apartment I kept during the week. When I returned home after graduating from college, he went with me. About 3 years later, I let him out in the morning, and didn't think too much of it when he didn't return that night. Five days later, I knew he was not coming home again, and my heart was absolutely broken. I drove around the neighborhood, and asked everyone if they had seen him, but they hadn't. I never found out what happened to him, and seven years later, I still miss him desperately. I love my kitties, and have had some wonderful ones over the years, but I think he will always be my favorite.

Linda we will always hold onto a special memory of that special pet in our life that made a difference to our life. It doesn't matter how many pets you get in the future they will always have a different personality and affect our lives in a diffent way to our first pet. I feel the same way as you. I have fond memories and I am so glad I had the pets I did. They have enriched my life in ways that I didn't think possible. You couldn't put a monetary value on those memories. They are FOREVER.
