Seatbelts and Speeding

He was special, ya know? In our small town, everybody knew him and having him as the "popular" brother was tiring. I and my siblings lived in his shadow all throughout high school. "Hey aren't you Steve's sister?" or "Yeah, Isn't Steve your older brother?" were basically our names until he finally graduated this past May.
On Friday October 28, 2011, my older brother was involved in a head on collision with a heavyset truck. He was speeding and lost control of his S-10. He would have survived had he worn a seatbelt.
My brother died of a Myocardial Rupture of the left ventricle (bursting of the left side of his heart).
You cannot survive that and unless you're totally concious, you can't tell it happened. So, when the airbag deployed and hit his chest, the pressure caused the process to begin.
So when those commercials for "Click It or Ticket" come on screen, don't turn the channel or ignore it...I lost my brother, my role model because he wasn't careful. And guys remember...
Don't believe it won't happen because it will. So believe it can and be ready for when it does.
