Sera: A Princess, A Gem, An Angel

by Robi Ketchen
(Vestal, NY )

Sera is a red-headed mini pomeranian who was born February 8, 2000. She came to our family at the end of March 2000 with open arms and open hearts (she was rescued from a puppy mill who was planning to euthanize her due to an underbite she had). Sera was the most passive, gentle, patient, loving creature to ever walk this earth. If she had food in her mouth (and someone would reach for it), she would drop it.

She had two vices in her life: having her tummy scratched and sleeping on her body pillow. She would snore so loudly that she quite often woke herself up. (She would even drag your hand over to her tummy so that you could pet her!) The only time in her life she got mad involved a sleeping bag. She had the edge in her mouth and she was trying to drag it into a mound to sleep on. (She did not understand that because she was stepping on it, the sleeping bag was never going to move.) Whenever Mommy or Grandma came home, she would bark in excitement and wag her tail furiously.

She passed away Aug 10 2010 from pancreatitis and renal failure. She is survived by her "brother" Shadow (a 15 year old pikapoohuahua), her mother, her grandmother, and her uncle.

Additional Info: In the 2 days since her passing, a cross has appeared on her grave. No one admits to placing it there. It's Sera saying, "I'm okay Mommy. I'm better now." I'm glad, baby girl. I'm glad you forgive mommy for not allowing you to suffer with renal failure. The day you died in my arms is the day my heart died. I miss you, baby girl. I will always love you.
