She was a strong willed cat with a heart full of love

by Holly

I watched her as I watched a star
through darkness struggling into view
and loved her better than she knew......

I had Velveda with me a little over a year. She came to me
free, the rescue organization desperate to give her a good
home after waiting in a cage to be adopted for seven months.
She had a few unusual habit's, she loved eating fresh vegetables
and fruit....would actually beg for veggies often.
Anytime she was in the mood to say hello or play, she would
jump on my back. This included while preparing her veggies. (Oh
yes, all other cat food and treats were ate quickly!)
She died from a serious illness February 7, 2012 - not even two
years old. I told the vet that she was a special cat that I have
never seen those behaviors before- and now I am sharing her
here. Thank you very much.

Little Angel
by: Anonymous

My pet cat aged one year died yesterday after a brutal acid attack by some inhuman persons. I can truly understand your feelings as I'm going through that terrible situation now. My cat also had similar playing traits like your little angel Vevelda. When I break down while talking about my pet's death many of my friends are amused saying 'Oh It is only a CAT and why are you crying on its death ? But only people like us can understand this situation. In such short span of life our little angels gave us immense love and affection . May god give you strength to bear the loss of a loved pet.

Extra Love
by: Judith in California

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Velveda. It's such a sad time to go through. She was a beautiful girl. My heart goes out to you. Our pets give us extra love no human can and they bring out the best in most of us.

I lost my Marly, Butterball, Pepper and Spunky over the last several years and each one I miss to this day even tho I have 3 kitties now. They are loaned to us by God to love until and then he takes them back to Rainbow Ridge in heaven.

I know I'll see them again one day.

Beautiful Cat
by: Janet

Holly, she was a beautiful cat. Loosing a pet is like loosing a member of your family. I have lost too many pets in the past and now I do not want another one. The pain and grief are to unbearable. The worst was when I had to have Garfield, my husband Jim's Manx, put down because of Feline Lukemia.
I told my son when Tank, his American Pit Bull, passes that there will be no more animals in this house. After loosing my husband this past November, I am at a point where I do not want to have to deal with any more grief.
It sounds like you had an awesome family member and you will always remember her. They are such a comfort and joy to have around. God Bless You.
