Solomon, My Precious Angel

by Charlene Flagg
( Grand Rapids, MI )

Our Beloved Solomon

Our Beloved Solomon

I thank God for having blessed me and my family with Solomon. We had Solomon for about five years. He left us on 12/31/2009. While I am not ready to write about him, I would like to share his photo, and a scripture and poem.

Scripture

I consider that our present sufferings are not
worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
… the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay
and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
(Romans 8:21, NIV)

Poem

The heart that loves breaks when the object of its affection is there no more.

Consumed by sorrow, and emptied of rationality,
the broken heart cannot be healed by the mind, but only by the Hand of God.

Indeed, the heart that is broken is mended by the loving hand of its creator:
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.

Therefore, it is in our brokenness that we most intimately
enter the presence of our Creator.
And, it is in His presence that we will meet Solomon once again.

Thank you for sharing with us this precious blessing from God.

Beautiful Soul
by: Australia - Down Under

Charlene, I can see that you could see straight through into Solomon's heart & he had a lot of love for you and your family. Such a beautiful soul. Keep the happy memories alive, Charlene and grieve as long as you need to. xo
