I met Stella when she was 2 years old in 2005. I had never had a pet, and at the time I did not know how I felt about having a dog in the house. Little did I know how much love, and joy Stella was going to bring me and my daughters. Stella's sudden death on March 29th of congestive heart failure has brought me lots of pain and sorrow; I spent days waking up crying, asking myself how could this happen. Stella was healthy, vibrant, and she was supposed to live until she was 14years old! All of us felt an emptiness and being at home without Stella was not the same.
I had a nickname for Stella, it was "Pooh". It started one day when I, out of the blue, started singing "Stella Pooh, Stella Pooh, my Stella Pooh". Everyone laughed and since then she was my "Pooh". Stella was a nice quiet dog, very loving, and loved to chase after birds. When Stella ran off on us, when her leash was taken off at the time we were going to enter the house, after coming back from being out, we used to say Stella loves to take scenic walks in our neighborhood. It was scary to think that she was lost when we went out to look for her, but we would then laugh when we found her just walking about smelling grass, eating the grass, or just chasing after birds.
I miss my Stella "Pooh" and the joy she brought to my life will always live in my heart. I love you Stella!

I'm so very sorry for your loss, it's always heartbreaking to lose one so loved and so special. Please try to remember the happy moments, she would not want you to be sad. Time is the only thing that helps. Wait for your family at the Rainbow Bridge, sweet Stella!

Darlin what a sad loss of your Stella Pooh. I know how much losing a pet hurts one. It is a different type of grief after losing a pet.
I lost my husband almost a year ago to cancer and still struggling with grief. My daughter is trying to persuade me to have a dog. But the time is not right. I can't bring myself to love another pet and then lose them. I have lost 6 and after losing my husband this is my worst loss and I will know when the time is right to introduce some pet into my life.
You should keep a journal of your life with your pet. You will have these memories recorded forever. It is good to keep on giving love to another pet. Don't discount this from your life. Each pet is an individual. But they do bring such joy and happiness into life that sure beats being alone and suffering from lonliness. WE can only try and make each day count and be a blessing to other's. This is where our joy comes from. Best wishes and May you be comforted in your loss of Stella Pooh.

Stella was awesome... I miss her. I used to joke that i would get her stuffed. now, all I have is her ashes. I miss my GIRL.

She made me happy, laugh, she comforted me when I was sad. AND, she laid on Joycelyns lap during the day. A 45 Lb teddy bear. the balloon we sent off with writing on it helped. Jazz is Jazz, not Stella.
