In Loving Memory Of
Margaret Ciinji Wanjiru Spencer
1966-2009
My woman, my love, my friend has died today
I shall miss her so
I loved her without condition or reservation
In spite of her flaws, I accepted her into my heart
I welcomed her strengths and weaknesses
I admired her character and envied her sharing nature
The warmth of her body against mine made me feel wanted and worthy
Her love filled the void within my heart
Now my heart is shattered with grief and despair
Scared forever by unending separation from her presence in this world
My tormented mind reels at the thought of losing her
Yes, my “Bay-Bee” has passed away
I am heartbroken, faded and wilted, like a fallen rose upon the frozen ground
Yet, I shall not permit the passing of time to tarnish my affection for her
I shall cherish each memory and continue to love her as before
Memories that will revive the withered flower in my heart and permit it to bloom
Bursting anew with vivid beauty and sweet fragrance
My love for her remains beyond measure
Love unending, with all my heart and soul
Until the last curtain falls
