The loss of my brother 15 yrs later.

It's been 15 years since we got the phone call that changed my life forever. My brother Jay was serving in the US Navy, and got into a car accident that took his life. He was only 22 years old. I was 19. Here I am today holding on, and trying to make him proud with every step in his short life that he taught me. My husband and I met at his funeral. Call it destiny, or maybe just that older protective brother still watching over me. So Like I said, 15 years later , I am married with 2 wonderful boys, an amazing husband, and my brothers soul that lives through all of us. This was gods plan, now learning to accept it, takes the love I had from having an older brother, then losing him.

I am sorry for your loss of your brother at such a tender age of your life. But happy that something good came into your life by meeting your husband and knowing the joy and happiness of family life. It is usually said that when we lose something/somebody from our life that God does compensate us by putting a new attitude in us and someone else in our life. You are Blessed. For some of us Life will dictate that we wish we can have it all. But we live in a fragile world losing people from our lives all the time. We need comfort from our sorrow and a Will to go on living despite life's tragedies. May God continually be with you and your family. Keep you safe and happy in life.
