The same day

by Gaye
(England)

My mum and dad died on the same day at different hospitals, they did not get a chance to say goodbye. Dad was 88 years old and suffering from prostrate cancer. Mum was 86 and was (we thought) recovering from several infections. My sister and I spent many hours with dad during his last few days, mum knew this and was pleased we were with him. However because we thought she was getting better we did not see so much of her and this I regret. I got to say goodbye to dad but not to mum. I am so sorry mum if only we had known.
