My mother passed away on August 8, 2012. Even though I knew she was leaving it still was very hard for me. I was with her everyday for over 10 years. She had lung cancer. I loved her very much but now it seems I love her even more. She never complained about anything. I miss her very much. Im grateful she didnt suffer she was 81 years old and she died at home I had her in a hopsice situation at home. I truly believe that this is the worst feeling. I don't think it could get any worse. I am though comforted by the knowledge that she is in a better place. Its extremely difficult to remember that I will never see her here again on earth. I just pray that God will help me cause it really really hurts. I grieve alone

Walter I am sorry for your loss of your mom to lung cancer. I lost my husband of 44yrs. 10 months ago to lung cancer caused by working with asbestos. A rare and serious cancer which was incurable, inoperable, and aggressive. My husband died slowly over 3yrs. he suffered a horrendous bad quality of life. Which does affect my grief. It is as you say the worst feeling ever. No pain like it. One question I want to ask God. How are we created that Grief hurts so bad? Many people on this site explain all the same feelings, the dominant word being that of UNBEARABLE. Often we feel that we can't hurt any more. As I have said often here. Grief is like a slow hemorraghe with no Pain relief. At least if we have an illness or a headache there is medication for this. But Grief goes on hurting each day. Tears are our only release to find Healing which is a slow process. You will feel this sorrow for some time but I am sure it won't last forever. It come's and it will pass. I hope that you will find Peace and Comfort in your sorrow and loss.
