The Waltz

by LeAnn Stone
(MN)

It was difficult for me to leave you,
but, the choice I made was right.
I will always be right next to you,
come morning, day and night.
I am dancing once again with Elmo,
waltzing around heaven’s floor.
I couldn’t have been happier to see him
at the opening of Heaven’s door.
There were so many people
that met me at the gate,
including God, my Lord and Savior
at whose table I have ate.
I understand that my leaving you,
is difficult for you to bear,
I see and hear your tears of mourning,
I see you everywhere.
Be happy in your lives,
be loving in your ways
and if you really need me,
just fold your hands and pray.

Thank you so very much. Bob was German and loved the waltz. He died in July and we got to celebrate our 50th in 2010. What a wonderful man and how very lucky I was to have know his love. Your poem was perfect. God bless you.

LeAnn,

I am truly touched be this beautiful poem as though it was sent to me from my sweetheart Raymond. I miss him so much it hurts badly especially today. It's the 8th month anniversary date of his death and I'm extremely down. Just when you think your getting better, you drop to your knees in agony of grief. He was my dancer, taught me how to dance so good that he made us leave the dance floor one night earlier than we would have because he thought I was dancing too sexy. Of course it was his imagination since we swapped dance partners for one song and I wasn't dancing with him. When we got in the car I had to turn my head toward the window so he didn't see me smirking. Wouldn't you know he realized he was having a moment - not his nature to be jealous. Before I could say anything he apologized for being immature and we both cracked up laughing, carrying on like kids. That's how our relationship was....special and very loving. He always made me feel beautiful, always and showered me with gifts of love. He knew how to treat a lady. I'll never have that feeling again unless he came back to life!

So maybe he prompted you to send this poem for me. I know he can do anything he puts his mind to and I'll always love him.
