This has been a horrible 2 and half years

by Angela
(Manchester )

In July 2011 , one of my cats (Misty) got sick and had to be put to sleep then a few months later on October the 10th my Dad passed away aged 54.
A friend of mine passed away in Aug 2012 she was only 26 years old .
On the 7th October 2013, My mum found our cat Tigger lying in the garden and he passed away.
Today I took our other cat Libby to the vet and tomorrow she will have to be put to sleep .
Libby and Tigger were brother and sister and both 13 and we have had them since they were kittens .
I am 23 years old and the past two and half years have been awful.

Angela I am sorry for all your losses of father and pets and friend from your young life. this is the worst part of living is losing people from our life. I have lost many pets and know how this feels. You always feel an emptiness in the pit of your stomach and an ache that takes so long to go. Also living in the UK we used to have a saying that "It doesn't rain, but it pours." I guess this is what has been happening to you and you wonder what will be next. Sometimes we do get a break in between our sorrow and sometimes it keeps pouring and we find it difficult to get ourselves out of this pit of despair. Don't be afraid to use CRUSE bereavement services. They have a purpose to help people work through their grief and it does allow one to feel less pain from grief, till one is able to find their way forward in time. Adapting to life after loss is not easy. I never thought I would lose my husband so early in my life, and now it is hard going through each day. Only way to survive is ONE DAY AT A TIME. It does help.

hang in there.

Angela. I can totally feel for your loss.

In Feb 1993 I took my best friend Tiger to the vet on Saturday, and he died the next morning.

That cat was a stray my parents had adopted in Jan 1975. He slept on my feet and was truly my younger brother while I was recovering from very serious medical condition. He was the best therapy I could have received and I will always miss him.

I have many good memories of Tiger as I am sure you have of your cats. So just hang in there.
