Timothy Martin LaGana (1965-2009) An Amazing Man.

(New York)

My Dad's name is Timothy Martin LaGana. He was killed April 5th, 2009. Right now it is March 30th, 2010. Almost one year, and I am devastated. I was 11 was my father was killed, and my brother was 15. Now we are both one year older, and we miss him so much. It's also really hard for me because he was killed on my Mom's birthday.

He was so amazing, and had a zest for life. He was so creative, fun, funny, handsome, bubbly, loving, caring... I could go on all day. My Daddy changed my life a huge amount. He was killed in a car accident when an 18 year old fell asleep at the wheel and veered off the road, and struck my Dad's side of the car. (he and his girlfriend were parked in a driveway). His girlfriend, Brenda, is still alive today... and I am so glad.

I don't know what it would've been like if I lost two people that I hold very close to my heart. Although I question God's choice... I know my Dad was done with all that he could do on earth. He was kind-of a poor man... so this day he died, he died Loved. He died next to someone who loved him. He died at the best point in his life. He died painfree, instantly... that is the only part of his death that makes me smile... besides the part where I know he is in a much better place then he ever was here.

My Dad had a strong passion for anything he did. He was so awesome, and I hope my Dad's death story will inspire you all to sleep in bed... NOT on the road. My Dad was there for me whenever I needed him. He was one of the only people I felt comfortable telling anything to. I still remember his last words to me, "I Love You Too." I will never forget you Daddy. I will hold you in my heart... Forever.

Shining Star
by: Down Under

Marissa, my condolences on the loss of your dad Timothy. You sound like a very bright and brave girl and I wish you all the very best in life. You words of sleeping in bed should be used as an anti speeding campaign. Well said. Look up above Marissa and pick a shining star, that will be your dad, talk to him when ever you need to, he's watching down on you all the time ! Take care.
