Today

by Gracie Thompson

Today

Today is Survivor’s Day for our family.

Today we remember our son and brother and how much we love him.

Today we reflect on special moments, trying to engrain these stories into our minds forever and continue to share them with those who follow after who will never have the privilege of meeting him.

Today is special – it knits us closer together as a family.

Surviving suicide is not for sissies.
It takes courage to face the future with love and gratitude.

And we will, as we remain forever
in God’s grip.
