Walter Madore 9/3/68 - 3/29/09 Gone too soon, Missed too much

Walt's last birthday party

Walt's last birthday party

Walter was the type of person that was always first to arrive at your cookout and the last to leave. Even then you weren't in a hurry for him to leave.

It was unusual to ever see Walter without his boys with him. If you did it usually meant that they were at practice and he couldn't stay long because he had to pick them up soon.

He was Uncle Walter to just about every child he knew. He was never too busy to listen to my 11 year old tell him all about what he learned to do on his skateboard or bike. He was also not too busy to rescue my 18 year old son from the state police baracks while we were in Jamaica. He knew who to call. Uncle Walter would save his butt.

Walter was a unique friend in many ways. Losing him devastated my husband. I believe the way he put it was, "Finding a best friend is hard, but losing one is almost impossible to do."

He left a huge void in many people's lives, including mine. He would sit and listen while I explained why his best friend was such a jerk and he wasn't afraid to agree with me sometimes. Not very often, but if he thought I was right he would say so.

He always gave so much more than he ever asked for.
