I was adopted 11 years ago when i was 3 by my mum and dad. i loved my dad sooo much that words cant describe it.i was a bit of a daddys girl really and he loved me like his own.it was only when i was 12 2 years ago that my dad fell ill and was told that he had liver cancer.this type was untreatable and he only had around 5 months to live. thankfully my dad made it to 6 and a half months before he died.its 2 years on and im still struggling to get through every day life let alone school exams.i know he would be proud of me,he always was no matter what! I LOVE YOU DADDY!xxxxxxxxx

Lost my Dad. I am only 14yrs.
by: Doreen England U.K.

Hi Jessica
I am so sorry for your loss of your Dad. You are so young at 14yrs. to face such a tragedy. Of course you are still struggling. Grief will go on and on and in time it will feel less painfull but you will always feel the sadness of losing your Dad.
Your Dad loved you and you were very special. Because you were adopted You were Chosen and you will feel valued by your adopted parents.
Hold onto the special memories. Don't bottle up your grief. You have to express this even if the tears keep coming. One day you will move forward and the pain will be less and so will the tears be less and you will be happy again.
If you feel it is too painfull and you can't cope then find a bereavement counsellor and talk out your feelings and this will help you greatly.
Best wishes
