What do I Pray For

by Sandy A

What do I Pray for

I pray for a night of continual sleep
no tossing and turning & thinking

I pray that I can start living again
instead of pretending to live

I pray to see you in my dreams
then wake up crying because I did

I pray that I can think about your memory
without bursting into tears

I pray for this nightmare to end and for
a peace that never seems to come

I pray for all these things my son
since God called you home

I pray ……………………..

What I Pray For
by: Julie

I will your list of what you pray for by my bed in my journal. I've had a lot of loss lately and have been covering it up with alcohol. I pray everyday that it will be my last drink.

I am learning to pray
by: Cindy

I am so sorry for your loss. I also lost my son this past March. He was only 27.
What do I pray for? I pray that he is safe and feels no pain. I pray for an answer from him. I pray to dream about him because I have not.
I pray for the knot in my throat to go away and that I can look at his pictures without crying like a baby.
It is the most painful, heart wrenching thing I have ever gone through and I pray for the peace.
Everyday I wake up and still live one step at a time. But I do know I am not alone. You are not alone. It is no comfort, I get that, but we will survive. We just will never be the same.
I know this for sure.

I pray for a prayer like yours, but instead add my brother

I pray for you because I think losing my brother to suicide recently has been the worst pain ever, but then I see your pain over losing your child and I will add you to my prayers tonight, because losing a child I just could not fathom, never thought the pain could get worse for me with losing my beloved brother, but then I read those here of losing their children and that has got to be the worse:(

Prayers to you and that is a beautiful prayer.
