Whoopie was born March 3, 1994. We were very lucky to have her for 18 1/2 years. We had to send her to her resting place 9/17.
She was loving to us, but fractious to others, until she got to know them. She was a Maine Coon and was so beautiful. Her goal was to have her dad hold her whenever he was home and put up with mom. But, understand, she was the ruler of the house. Since Mom was the rule maker, she often told her off and in no uncertain terms. She did stop, if mom told her too, but not if dad did. She had him wrapped around her finger. She traveled with us on a few occasions when we went away for a couple of weeks. When dad got a job out of state, she started to be nicer to mom. She slept on mom's side, when she was on her side. She slept across her leg's when she was on her back. If she was reading, she had to be in her lap and up to her left shoulder. She didn't like the right shoulder at all.
In her last few months of life, all she wanted was to be held 24 hours a day. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. You could have rode a plane through the hole in my heart. I have no idea when the pain will go away. But, I do know, now she is safe and maybe she will meet up with a special dog I had long before she came into our life.
God Bless you Whoopie and keep you safe.
