WISH I COULD HAVE EASED YOUR SUFFERING

by HEARTBROKEN

Dear Mum,

You helped everyone. Nursed my father. Brought me and my brothers up, was the breadwinner. WIPED OUR TEARS.

I seemed to be pleading for help all the time. In the hospital they did not believe you were deteriorating, but I knew when your beautiful smile diminished you were deteriorating. Why did I have to plead for a doctor, and sometimes at the weekends have to wait hours for one ?

At home you were dying and they took you in the local hospice, but why did it take them so long to believe that you were unable to cope with such intense suffering. ?.

all your life you cared for others. But when you were so ill I seemd to have to plead for you. I even threatened to call an ambulance when you had severe angina in the hospital and they said they were busy.

YOU DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER.

miss you.XXX the best mum in the world, the house and my world is empty.

Wish I could have eased your suffering.

Dear Heartbroken I am sorry for the loss of your mom. Mom's care unconditionally and this is what they do. They keep giving because they love their families. When they leave this world and their families behind this is extremely painfull. I can understand your helplessness about wanting to have done something more for your mom. Just by being in her world made her HAPPY. As a mom I too will pass from this world. Content at having done my job of bringing up a family and nursing my husband through cancer to his death 3 months ago. I too had difficulties with the doctors who let us down and left my husband in severe cancer pain at the end of his life. Doctors are human and belong to a system that often prevents them from moving beyond the paperwork it takes to providing BETTER CARE. It is Human nature to think that we never did enough in caring for our loved ones. We have to overcome this thinking. WE all make mistakes and let people down in life. but it is overcoming this and carrying on each day trying to make a better day and a difference in our world and in the lives of others that will help us leave a better legacy when we pass from this world.
