You made it Grandma !!

My Grandmother passed away on 23rd September 2012. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday the month before and was pleased to finally receive her birthday card from the Queen. She was not in ill health and her passing was peaceful. Although death is a natural cycle, we all miss her terribly. She will always be remembered for her "white" brussel sprouts, boiled to death as they had been on the stove two hours before dinner time, her flat victoria sponge that oozed with jam and her use of sellotape for everything in the house that was broken. As a child, I remember the Sunday morning cooked breakfasts in bed and the gravy mince on Thursdays followed by the lastest Beano comic. I remember the layette she knitted for my baby daughter and when her son was born how she loved to hold him. Her love was unconditional and she had a kind heart. She celebrated her 100th birthday in true style and as we say Goodbye to her tomorrow at her funeral,we will celebrate her life and her life achievements. We will be strong for each other and continue the life cycle that she started. Our surviving family is now just four generations but Grandma will live in our hearts forever.
