You're Part of That Universe

by Patty Juliano
(Cathedral City, Ca)

I’d like to sit and talk to you,
There’s so much to say.
So many things have happened since
You went away.

Can you hear me where you are?
sitting on that great big star.
Lighting up the sky,
For me to see.

You’re part of that Universe,
That people wish they could see.
But I wish you were part of this world,
sitting here with me.

I’d like to take a walk with you,
if just for a day.
Can you tell me if where you are,
Is it just like they say?
Is it peaceful? Is it calm?
Is the pain really gone?
Are you missing us like we miss you?

You’re part of that Universe,
That people wish they could see.
But I wish you were part of this world,
sitting here with me.

I’ve just one more thing to say,
And then I must go.
The impact you left on me,
You’ll just never know.
And so the memories I’ll cherish them,
Till, we get to meet again,
in a place where tears will never flow.

And now you’re part of that Universe,
That people wish they could see.
But I wish you were part of this world,
Sitting here with me.

My mother is grieving for her husband of almost 61 years. It's been almost 2 years, she has not been well herself, and finds it difficult to grieve. I believe your poem has opened a door for her and I am grateful. God bless you.

Your poem

This poem is beautiful. It brought me to tears several times because it encapsulates how I feel. Grieving is a painful experience but always remember it is only painful because you were able to love and be loved in return. RIP x

Exactly how I feel
by: Jennifer

This is exactly how I feel about my dad. I lost him 2 months ago. I just miss him. Thank you for this.
